Dial-Up Daydreams: An HRT Mixtape
Jynx deLygh
This album is a homecoming. It is a collection of five songs that soundtracked a life lived before I could fully be myself. Now, I return to them not just as a listener, but as the woman I was always meant to be, giving them a new voice—literally and figuratively.
Each cover is a conversation between my past and present self, reinterpreting these beloved melodies through the lens of my transgender experience. This project is a defiance of limitation and a celebration of possibility. After undergoing vocal feminization surgery in my 40s—a procedure that often carries a prognosis of never singing again—I embarked on this journey to prove that a trans woman's voice can not only speak her truth but can also soar, resonate, and hold immense beauty.
This is more than an album; it is proof of concept and a work of heart. It is for anyone who has ever had to fight for the right to their own song.
